December 25 2013 Ice Scupltures for Christmas

Macro Macro-5 Macro-3

As many of you may know, there was a major ice storm in Toronto just before Christmas, so when I arrived back in Toronto there was still ice on everything.. These are some of my favorite pictures I was able to capture when I finally arrived home on Christmas day.

December 24 2013 Hey There Baby

Yup can’t say much about this one as this was the first time I met my new 6 day old Niece.. Can’t say anything she is just beautiful 🙂

December 23 2013 Weighted Response

Today was the day we finally left Mt St Anne, the weather was finally good enough for us to head out and so we went off to see my sister in Ottawa. Which held a very special surprise of its own, which you should see tomorrow, but for now I just enjoyed the shape of the dumbbell on the carpet.

December 22 2013 Drying out to No Avail

This picture has an odd story attached to it.. So it seems I am still rather restless when I sleep, and when I was sleeping the first night we arrived at Mt St Anne I had a glass of water next to my bed, but also my phone charging too.. At some point in the night I knocked the glass of water over and soaked my phone, it sat in the pool of water for the entire rest of the night. I managed to get a cup of rice from the restaurant downstairs but sadly it seems as though the phone is not salvageable, the internal components are dried out but it just seems like the charging port was just so very messed up.

December 21 2013 Icy Run

Today was the perfect day to bring my camera up to the top of Mt St Anne, it was the only day where the clouds parted and it stopped snowing for any amount of time. As I was cruising down a run I came across this little formation and just thought it was too cool not to take a picture of.

December 20 2013 Blast from the Past

St Anne-5 St Anne-4

We arrived near Quebec city and low and behold we were stuck there for a few days, fortunately having foreseen this we went right to Mt St Anne and stayed at a hotel right on the hill. Tonight I decided to go take a look around and I found this lone snow gun, it made me very much miss my time as a Snowmaker in New Zealand, and standing there taking this picture in -16 weather made me realize how much I envied Snowmakers in Quebec!

December 19 2013 Farewell to Nova Scotia…

Title says it all really, we started on our trek back to Ontario, hopefully being able to ski along the way but we also got to hang out with my friend Chantal in Moncton as it was on the way. We managed to avoid most of the bad weather though there was some seriously nasty parts after we got past Edmunston New Brunswick. The cars and trucks in the ditch showed quite a picture of the night before.
