June 14 2014 Returning to the Red Island

In all the years I spent living on the east coast I never really took the time to tour around PEI. I did go once in the winter but didn’t get to see too much of the island. Finally got that chance this past week and here is what I found. It was a fantastic trip and I need to send a special thanks to my awesome friend Lisa for suggesting it!

This last week I went the farthest north I have ever been in Canada, at about 56 degrees north to place called Island Falls in Saskatchewan. Up there a lot of ice still clung to the lakes, it snowed even in the middle of may… It boggles my mind how big Canada is, I was at 56 degrees but Canada extends North to 82 degrees. So much wilderness, so much space and all I know is I want to see a hell of a lot more of it and I can’t wait.

This past week was quite the adventure. I was sent out on my first work trip all the way out to Alberta. A little place that seemed to be so many miles from anywhere (It was in fact about 4 hours east of Calgary). It was fantastic and I could not have asked for better weather. These are just a few of the pictures I took while traveling and walking around. People say the prairies are boring to drive though not if you love birds like I do, or if you happen to drive through the Red Deer River Valley!

Bell

Today was the day we finally left Mt St Anne, the weather was finally good enough for us to head out and so we went off to see my sister in Ottawa. Which held a very special surprise of its own, which you should see tomorrow, but for now I just enjoyed the shape of the dumbbell on the carpet.

December 19 2013 Farewell to Nova Scotia…

Gone-6

Title says it all really, we started on our trek back to Ontario, hopefully being able to ski along the way but we also got to hang out with my friend Chantal in Moncton as it was on the way. We managed to avoid most of the bad weather though there was some seriously nasty parts after we got past Edmunston New Brunswick. The cars and trucks in the ditch showed quite a picture of the night before.

Yeah I will admit tonight I am not in the mood for typing.. All I am going to say is that I took a drive tonight and found this spot and absolutely love this picture.

June 10 2013 Night of Adventure

The Coast-8The Coast-2

I am on my way to go camping and my first stop was to meet up with my friend Chantal in New Brunswick. She rented a cottage out on the ocean for the summer and well I was not prepared for the sight that awaited me. It is a place right on the coast and I did not even get a chance to actually see the ocean but it did not matter.

June 9 2013 Packing for trips

packing

I love to travel, seeing new places, exploring them, to me there is nothing better. Though one thing that always annoys me is packing, trying to make a list of things you need for a trip can be hard when you don’t really have a great idea as to what you are going to be doing on that trip! Though then that is also part of the fun, you may forget something but then there is also a bit of fun with improvising with something else (provided what you forgot is not essential, like a passport for example) or just making do without it. It may not always be fun to do but in the end it will be a good story regardless!

Feb 25 2013 Wanderlust

wander-2

I have the wanderlust, I love to travel and experience new places. Just getting back from the Bahamas was just another reminder of how much of the world there is to see. I can’t wait to head off and see someplace new, be it the other side of the world or a new trail in Halifax. I will always have to explore this beautiful world of ours, so I suppose I should bring my compass!
