November 5 2013 Molten Underwater Life

When I came back from New Zealand back in 2008 I did not bring back a whole lot of souvenirs. I am firm believer that I really don’t need very much other than my memories and my pictures. One thing I did bring back was this Paua shell and it has been on my shelf ever since. Such an incredible looking shell in itself but it looks almost molten when you shine a light through it..

I was exhausted, I had just gotten home from the field trip rather late at night. I quickly ate supper in a dazed state but then looked on my little bookshelf. Not for the first time it crossed my mind how crazy awesome it is that this was a creatures shell, an abalone shell. So I got my camera out.
